MIDDLEBURY, Vt. The Bowdoin women's tennis team suffered its second defeat in as many days after falling 8-1 to top-ranked Emory on Sunday.
The Polar Bears (11-4) came into the weekend ranked sixth nationally, but fell to number one ranked Emory (20-4) to conclude a three-match trip to Middlebury.
Match Highlights
- The Polar Bears trailed 2-1 following doubles play. Bowdoin's number one pairing of Joulia Likhanskaia and Tiffany Cheng secured an 8-2 win to account for the team's lone point of the day.
- Likhanskaia played in the only three-set match of the day in the top singles spot. The junior won her first set 6-4, but ultimately fell in three.
- Every other singles match was decided in two sets.
