Women's Tennis Falls to Middlebury in Top-Ten Battle

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The Bowdoin women's tennis team suffered a 7-2 NESCAC loss to Middlebury in Saturday afternoon in a rematch of the 2015 NCAA Regional Final.

The Polar Bears (11-3) fell to the Panthers (8-3) who knocked off top-ranked Emory the previous day.

Match Highlights

  • Bowdoin secured one point after doubles play as the number one pair of Joulia Likhanskaia and Tiffany Cheng captured an 8-6 victory.
  • Three matches went to three sets, all eventually falling in favor of Middlebury.
  • Samantha Stalder was the lone Polar Bear to earn a singles victory. Stalder secured a point for Bowdoin at number six with a 6-4, 6-4 match.
