Women's Tennis Returns To Win Column With Sweep of Chapman

ORANGE, Calif. - The Bowdoin College women's tennis team posted its first shutout of the season, bouncing back from its first loss of the campaign to sweep Chapman 9-0 on Monday.

The second-ranked Polar Bears move to 5-1 on the season with the win.

Match Highlights

  • The Polar Bears wasted little time taking full command of the match, losing just two games in taking a 3-0 lead in doubles play
  • Joulia Likhanskaia and Tiffany Cheng netted an 8-0 shutout at the number one position to key the early Bowdoin surge
  • In singles play, Bowdoin continued to roll - particularly at the bottom of the ladder. The Polar Bears took straight-set wins in all six positions, including 6-0, 6-0 shutouts by Maddie Rolph, Sarah Shadowens and Samantha Stalder at numbers 4-6
