Men's Hoops Falls In Road Contest at Hamilton

CLINTON, N.Y. - The Bowdoin College men's basketball team dropped a 86-71 decision to Hamilton on Saturday afternoon at Scott Field House.

The Continentals improve to 11-10 (2-5 NESCAC) while the Polar Bears fall to 9-9 (2-5 NESCAC).

Game Highlights

  • The teams played a tightly-contested opening half that saw four tie scores
  • Tied at 24 with five minutes left in the frame, Hamilton used a 7-2 surge to push ahead late in the half and closed the period on a 6-2 run to take a 39-33 lead at the break
  • Hamilton pushed the lead to 11 points early in the second half, 44-33, and Bowdoin recovered with a 8-2 run that closed the gap to 46-41 with 15 minutes remaining
  •  The Continentals again pushed the lead to 11 points and Bowdoin could get no closer than seven points for the remainder of the game

  • Bowdoin had no answer for Hamilton's Ajani Santos, who finished with a game-high 25 points and seven rebounds on 11-18 shooting
  • The Polar Bears had four players in double figures, led by 18 from Lucas Hausman
  • Jack Simonds pitched in 14 while Jake Donnelly had 11 and Matt Palecki added 10
  • Hamilton finished at 43% shooting while Bowdoin connected on 38% for the contest
