Box Score NEW LONDON, Conn. - The Bowdoin College women's basketball team clinched the third seed for the upcoming NESCAC Tournament with a decisive 73-61 win at Connecticut College on Saturday afternoon.
The Polar Bears (19-5, 8-2 NESCAC) will learn their opponent for the NESCAC Tournament on Sunday following the conclusion of the league season. Bowdoin will host either Colby, Conn. College or Williams next Saturday, February 20. Game time will be announced next week.
Game Highlights
- The Polar Bears sprinted to an early lead and never looked back, building a 16-4 advantage in the opening quarter
- Bowdoin maintained their lead in the second period and carried a 38-26 advantage into halftime thanks to 11 first half points from Shannon Brady and nine from Kate Kerrigan
- With the lead staying in the low teens in the third quarter, Bowdoin put the contest out of reach with a 9-0 run
- The Polar Bears led by as many as 25 points in the second half before settling for the 12-point win

- Bowdoin scored 17 points off turnovers and put home 18 second-chance points

- Brady scored 21 points, grabbed five rebounds and blocked four shots in the win for Bowdoin
- Kate Kerrigan had 11 points, a career-high 15 rebounds and six assists for the Polar Bears
