FARMINGTON, Maine - Jack Simonds scored 30 points to lead the Bowdoin College men's basketball team to a 85-63 win over Maine-Farmington in the final game of the fall semester on Saturday afternoon.

The Polar Bears finish up the first semester with a record of 5-3 while the Beavers drop to 2-5.

Game Highlights

• Bowdoin shot 60.7% from the field in the opening half to take a 12-point lead at intermission.
• UMF held a 22-21 lead midway through the half before a 12-2 Bowdoin run, highlighted by a pair of Liam Farley three-pointers, gave the Polar Bears the lead for good.
• The Beavers stayed within striking distance early in the second half until a 11-0 Bowdoin surge, highlighted by consecutive three-pointers from Simonds, Farley and Neil Fuller pushed the Polar Bear lead to 23 points with under 15 minutes to go.
• Bowdoin extended its lead to as many as 25 points on their way to the win.

By The Numbers

• Simonds ended 12-18 from the field, including a trio of three-pointers to reach 30 points for the second time this season.
• Blake Gordon was the only other Polar Bear in double digits with 14 while Tim Ahn finished with a team-best five assists and Neil Fuller ended with a team-high seven boards.
• Farmington was led by 12 points from Isaac Witham.
• Bowdoin finished at 53% shooting for the game, including 10-19 from three-point range.
