Box Score

CLINTON, N.Y, - The Bowdoin field hockey team came back from a one goal deficit to force overtime against Hamilton only to see the Continentals snatch a 2-1 victory in overtime.

The Continentals (8-4, 6-3 NESCAC) hand the second-ranked Polar Bears (9-2, 5-2 NESCAC) just their second loss of the season. Hamilton's win against Bowdoin is the first in program history.

Game Highlights

  • Hamilton captured a 1-0 lead with 5:43 remaining in the first half. Michaela Giuttari misplayed a ball in the circle but Eva Rosencrans tracked it down to slam home the goal.
  • The Continentals held the Polar Bears at bay until less than eight minutes remained in regulation. Johna Cook located the ball in a scramble in front of the net and jammed home an equalizer.

Hamilton took advantage of a defensive breakdown on the right side to move the ball into the circle and draw Bowdoin goalie Clara Belitz to the near post.  Margaret Revera saw Tatiana Bradley in the center and slid a pass inside the stroke line for a one-touch by Bradley.
  • Bowdoin outshot Hamilton by a 28-10 margin and held a 15-9 edge in corners.
  • Belitz made a pair of stops, while Julia Booth had ten saves. Sarah Kane had a pair of defensive saves for Hamilton.
