Box Score CLINTON, N.Y, - The Bowdoin women's soccer team returned to the win column with a 2-0 victory over host Hamilton on Saturday afternoon.
The Polar Bears improve to 8-3-0 (4-2-0 NESCAC) while dropping the Continentals to 3-7-2 (1-7-1 NESCAC).
Game Highlights
- After trading shots in the opening five minutes of play, with each goalie making a pair of stops, Bowdoin broke through in the 23rd minute to take a 1-0 lead. Emma Beane stripped the ball off a Hamilton defender from 30 yards out and returned up the middle for a shot. Beane's ball to the right side found the back of the net.
- Bowdoin controlled play in the second half, outshooting the Continentals by a 6-2 margin. With less than three minutes to play Claire Dardinski doubled the Polar Bears lead. Brigit Bergin fed Dardinski from the left post, with a shot from point-blank range besting Emily Dumont to make the game 2-0.
- Hamilton held a slight 14-13 edge in shots, while the Polar Bears held a 6-0 advantage in corner kicks.
- Dumont made seven stops in net for the Continentals as Rachel Stout made six stops for Bowdoin.
