Women's Basketball Falls at Second-Ranked Amherst

AMHERST, Mass. - Cold shooting hampered the Bowdoin College women's basketball team in a 78-48 setback at the hands of Amherst on Friday evening.

Second-ranked Amherst remains unbeaten at 17-0 (4-0 NESCAC) while the Polar Bears fall to 12-5 (2-2 NESCAC).

  • After Bowdoin took an early 2-0 lead, Amherst rolled off an 18-2 run that gave them the lead for good
  • Amherst led 46-28 at halftime and used a 9-2 spurt out of halftime to put the game out of reach for good
  • The Polar Bears struggled from the field, connecting on just 29% of their shots for the game while Amherst netted 51%
  • Amherst controlled the boards, however, owning a 44-26 edge on the glass
