BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College women's basketball team jumped to an early lead and never trailed in a 74-62 win over Williams on Sunday at Morrell Gymnasium.

The Polar Bears improve to 13-4 (3-1 NESCAC) while the 22nd-ranked Ephs drop their second straight contest and fall to 11-4 (1-3 NESCAC) with the setback.

• Shannon Brady dominated in the early going for Bowdoin, scoring 12 early points as the Polar Bears sprinted to a 23-2 lead
• Abigail Kelly nailed a three-pointer to cap the huge run as the Polar Bears led 23-8 after one quarter of play
• The Ephs committed 11 first-half turnovers and Bowdoin, despite hitting just 37% of their shots, netted 12 free throws in the opening half to maintain a double-digit lead, 42-31, at halftime
• Bowdoin squelched all hopes of a second half comeback for Williams by outscoring the Ephs 15-5 in the third quarter to take a 57-36 lead into the fourth period
• The Polar Bears led by as many as 22 points in the fourth quarter before a late Eph rally closed the final margin to 12

• Shannon Brady scored 20 points and had 10 rebounds for the Polar Bears
• A trio of players scored nine points for Bowdoin - Lydia Caputi, Kate Kerrigan and Lauren Petit
• Amanni Fernandez scored a game-high 23 points in the loss for Williams while Katie Litman added 12 points
• Bowdoin scored 21 points off 22 Williams turnovers while committing just 12 turnovers themselves
• The Polar Bears held a slim 40-35 edge in rebounding, but grabbed 15 offensive boards and converted 14 second-chance points in the victory
