Women's Tennis Defeats Redlands For Second Straight Victory

REDLANDS, Calif. - The Bowdoin College women's tennis team won five of six singles matches en route to a 7-2 win over the University of Redlands on Tuesday.

The Polar Bears, ranked sixth in the latest Division III poll, improve to 5-2 with the win over the 22nd-ranked Bulldogs.

Bowdoin took a 2-1 play following doubles action courtesy of wins at #2 from Tess Trinka/Kyra Silitch (8-2) and at #3 from Pilar Giffenig/Samantha Stalder (8-1).

In singles play, Bowdoin earned wins at positions #2-6, getting straight-set wins from Giffenig (6-4, 6-3), Stalder (6-2, 6-1), Silitch (6-1, 6-0) and Emma Chow (6-2, 6-0). Tess Trinka won a hard-fought three-set battle at #2, rallying from an early deficit to take a 0-6, 7-6, 11-9 win.
