CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Bowdoin women's tennis team collected its first NESCAC victory of the season with a 7-2 win over Wesleyan on Tuesday morning.
The Polar Bears improve to 2-0 on their western swing after dispatching the Cardinals in both teams' conference opener.
Bowdoin entered singles play leading the Cardinals 2-1 after securing wins at #2 and #3 doubles. Kyra Silitch and Emma Chow combined for an 8-5 victory in the second spot while Pilar Giffenig and Tiffany Cheng dispatched Wesleyan with an 8-2 mark at #3.
In singles, the Polar Bears captured victories at #2-6 with four players finishing off their Wesleyan opponents in straight sets. Cheng (6-0, 6-4), Giffenig (6-0, 6-3), Stalder (6-1, 7-6), and Silitch (6-1, 6-0) all finished in two sets, while Tess Trinka earned a win at #3 with a 6-3, 3-6, 6-0 showing.
