BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College women's basketball team forced 37 turnovers and held Maine-Farmington to 29% shooting in a 79-38 win on Wednesday evening at Morrell Gymnasium.

The Polar Bears improve to 5-2 this season with their fourth consecutive victory. The Beavers fall to 3-5 with the loss.

• Bowdoin never trailed, jumping to a 10-2 lead after five minutes of play as Shannon Brady scored six early points for the hosts
• The Polar Bears led 22-8 after one quarter thanks to 47% shooting from the field
• Bowdoin remained warm in the second quarter and the Beavers turned the ball over 12 times as the Polar Bears opened the period on a 13-0 run to put the contest out of reach
• The Polar Bears led 43-20 at halftime and stretched their lead to 41 points in the fourth quarter

• Brady led all players with 17 points while also grabbed seven rebounds and blocking two shots in 23 minutes
• Lauren Petit was outstanding off the bench for the Polar Bears, scoring 14 points and earning six steals
• Marle Curle and Abigail Kelly had nine points each while Sydney Hancock had a team-best five assists and six rebounds for the hosts, who had 11 different players score
• Farmington was led by 13 points and 11 rebounds from Meghan Smith
• Bowdoin converted the 37 Beaver turnovers into 41 points
• The Polar Bears also got 34 points from their bench and held a 44-38 edge in rebounding, converting 19 second-chance points
