Box Score BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College volleyball team swept Bates 3-0 in the opening round of the NESCAC Championship Friday evening at Morrell Gymnasium.
The Polar Bears (21-4) advance to Saturday's conference semifinal where they will play the winner of Tufts and Middlebury at 1:00 p.m. The Polar Bears claimed the win by set scores of 25-15, 25-9, 25-14 to defeat Bates for the third time this season.
Game Highlights
- Bowdoin used a balanced attack to earn the win as four different players put home five or more kills
- Quincy Leech sparked the Polar Bear attack with 28 assists while also putting home five kills and earning 10 digs
- Michelle Albright and Christy Jewett each had a team-best nine kills while Albright earned 11 digs.
- Sydney Salle had eight kills and no errors in ten attacks for Bowdoin
- Katie Doherty had a team-high 20 digs for the Polar Bears
- Bates couldn't find their stride after battling Bowdoin to a four-set affair just last weekend as Nicole Peraica led the Bobcats with four kills
- Laryssa Schepel had seven digs and a match-high three service aces for Bates
