AMHERST, Mass. - The Amherst College women's volleyball team edged Bowdoin in a 3-2 decision on Friday evening, dealing the Polar Bears their first NESCAC loss of the season.

The Jeffs improve to 15-2 (6-2 NESCAC) while the Polar Bears fall to  12-4 (6-1 NESCAC). The loss snaps a 10-match winning streak for Bowdoin.

How It Happened

• Amherst rallied from a one-set deficit to take the win by scores of 15-25, 25-21, 25-22, 20-25, 15-10
• Tied at 7-7 in the deciding fifth set, Amherst used a key 4-1 run to pull away and finished the set on a 8-3 run to clinch the victory
• Christy Jewett was outstanding in defeat for Bowdoin, notching a match-high 20 kills, 28 digs and four service aces
• Michelle Albright and Sydney Salle had nine kills apiece for the Polar Bears
• Quincy Leech had 46 assists while Katie Doherty had 36 digs
• Nicole Carter sparked the Amherst offense with 47 assists
• Three Jeffs reached double figures in kills, led by 14 from Nicole Gould
• Katie Warshaw recorded a match-best 38  digs
