Box Score HARTFORD, Conn. – The Trinity men's soccer team used a last second goal in double overtime to down visiting Bowdoin on Saturday afternoon.
The Polar Bears fall to 4-3-2 (1-3-2 NESCAC) after their fourth overtime game of the season. The Bantams improve to 5-4-2 (2-4-1 NESCAC) with the victory.
How It Happened
- Trinity got on the board first with a goal from Sam Millbury in the 54th minute, after neither team was able to convert in the opening half. Tobias Gimand set up Millbury with a pass outside the box, which the sophomore sent towards goal and watched hit the crossbar and go in.
- Ethan Ellsworth set up Nabil Odulate with a corner kick. Odulate elevated to head the ball into the back of the net to tie the game with just 13 seconds remaining.
- The Bantams secured the win in the second overtime period after capitalizing on a Bowdoin turnover. Gimand controlled the ball and fed Cody Savonen with a through ball towards Bowdoin's net. Savonen worked his way around a pair of defenders and a netted the game winner in the 109th minute.
- Domenic Quade stopped seven shots for Trinity. Bowdoin's Stevie Van Siclen made six saves. The Bantams outshot the Polar Bears by a slight 15-13 margin.
