BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College women's basketball team never trailed in a 87-53 win over Connecticut College on Friday evening at Morrell Gymnasium.

Winners of nine straight games, the Polar Bears improve to 11-2 on the season. The Camels fall to 10-3 with the loss.

Bowdoin coasted thanks to four players in double-digits, led by Shannon Brady's 19 and Sara Binkhorst's 18. Marle Curle added 13 points and six assists for the Polar Bears while Kate Kerrigan added 10 points, eight rebounds, four assists and two steals.

Conn. College led the Camels with 15 points while Jenna Lovett added 12. Willa McKinley scored 10 off the bench for the visitors.

Bowdoin jumped to a 19-6 lead after eight minutes of play and carried a healthy 41-23 lead into halftime. The Camels were able to trim the lead to as little as 14 points in the second half, 54-40, following a Malman lay-in with 13:03 to go. But Bowdoin replied with a decisive 14-2 run to put the game out of reach.

The Polar Bears finished at 53% from the field for the contest, including 46% (6-13) from three-point range. Bowdoin held a 38-26 advantage on the glass and scored 31 points off 24 Camel turnovers.

Bowdoin will host Wesleyan on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. while Conn. College will travel to Colby.
