Box Score BANGOR, Maine - The Bowdoin College women's basketball team got 45 points from its bench in a 81-51 road win at Husson on Tuesday evening.
The Polar Bears improve to 16-2 with their 13th consecutive win. The Eagles fall to 8-6 this season with the loss.
Every Bowdoin player scored in the game, led by Sara Binkhorst's 15, which included 3-4 from three-point range. Emily Campbell led a stellar effort by the Polar Bear reserves, scoring 11 points on 5-7 shooting. Bowdoin was red-hot from the field, connecting on 30-53 (56.6%) for the game, including 10-19 (52.6%) from three-point range.
With Bowdoin holding a slim 13-11 lead midway through the opening period, Binkhorst scored seven consecutive points to spark a rally that saw the Polar Bears close the period on a 18-7 run to take a 31-18 lead at intermission. Bowdoin quickly put the game out of reach in the second half, scoring the first 11 points of the second half and leading by as many as 41 points en route to the win.
Bowdoin held Husson to 38.6% shooting and owned a 40-22 edge in rebounding. The Polar Bears also scored 35 points off 26 Eagle turnovers.
The Polar Bears will return to action on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. when they host NESCAC foe Colby in Morrell Gymnasium.
