Box Score 2 AMHERST, Mass. - The Bowdoin College volleyball team split a pair of regional matches Saturday to close out its weekend at the Hall of Fame Tournament hosted by Amherst College.
The Polar Bears (19-6) dropped their first match to Springfield 3-1 (23-25, 25-17, 25-22, 25-22) before rebounding to sweep Wellesley 3-0 (25-16, 25-16, 25-12). For her performance over the weekend, Christy Jewett was named to the All-Tournament team.
Against Springfield, Jewett posted 16 kills and nine digs while Erika Sklaver recorded 14 kills. Quincy Leech dished out 27 assists while Katie Doherty posted 33 digs.
In the victory over Wellesley, Clare Geyer had a team-best eight kills and four blocks. Hailey Wahl and Jewett added six kills each for the Polar Bears. Leech had 14 aces and Doherty recorded 22 digs.
The Polar Bears have two remaining games on their regular-season slate, at Amherst next Friday (8:00 p.m.) and at Williams on Saturday (2:00 p.m.). The results will determine their seeding for the upcoming NESCAC Championship, which begins on Friday, November 7.
