Box Score WATERVILLE, Maine - Fred Randall scored with under 12 minutes remaining as the Colby College men's soccer team stunned Bowdoin 1-0 on Saturday.
The Mules needed a victory for NESCAC playoff purposes and moved to 6-5-3 overall and 2-5-2 in conference play. Bowdoin dropped to 8-6-0 overall and 4-5-0 in the league. The Mules had last won a game against Bowdoin in 2011. Colby's last win at home against the Polar Bears was 3-1 in 2008.
Keith Chernin fed Randall, who chested the ball into the goal while on the run with 11:50 remaining. Quayle and Colby's defense moved their shutout streak to 347 minutes, 45 seconds after posting a third straight clean sheet.
Quayle needed to make just two saves. Bowdoin keeper Stevie Van Siclen had four stops. Colby had a 7-4 edge in shots, but Bowdoin owned a 4-2 lead in corner kicks.
Bowdoin closes out the regular season with a 3:00 p.m. home game against Tufts.
