Box Score BRUNSWICK, Maine - Christy Jewett and Michelle Albright had a dozen kills each on Friday evening as the Bowdoin College women's volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 win over Bates.
The Polar Bears, who won by set scores of 25-17, 25-20, 25-17, improve to 15-5 (5-3 NESCAC) officially clinch a berth in the 2014 NESCAC Tournament with their eighth consecutive win over Bates. The Bobcats fall to 8-11 (0-7 NESCAC) with the loss.
Albright hit at 55% for the match, putting home 12 kills against just one error in 20 attempts while also collecting six digs. Jewett had 12 kills and nine digs in the win, depositing five aces. Quincy Leech had 37 assists for Bowdoin while Clare Geyer posted five blocks and Katie Doherty 13 digs defensively.
Chandler McGrath led Bates with seven kills. Tess Walther and Augy Silver had eight digs apiece for the Bobcats while Nicole Peraica led the visitors with four blocks.
Bowdoin will return to action on Saturday as they host both Lebanon Valley (12:00) and Babson (4:00).
