Box Score CLINTON, N.Y. – The Bowdoin men's soccer team picked up its fifth consecutive victory in defeating Hamilton 3-1 on Saturday afternoon.
The Polar Bears (7-3-0, 3-3-0 NESCAC) continued their recent winning ways and dispatched the Continentals (5-4-1, 1-4-1 NESCAC) after outshooting the hosts 10-6.
Bowdoin got on the board early, in the 11th minute, with a goal from Sam White. Receiving the feed from Hunter Miller, White was able to deposit his fourth goal of the season and put Bowdoin on top 1-0.
Earning a free kick seven minutes into the second half, Eric Goitia converted on his opportunity and sent the ball straight in past Hamilton keeper Harris Pollack. Just two minutes later the Continentals got on the board with a goal kick of their own, cutting Bowdoin's margin to 2-1, off the foot of Erich Marcks. Matt Dias Costa supplied the Polar Bears with a final insurance goal in the 72nd minute, putting Bowdoin ahead 3-1.
Stevie Van Siclen played all 90 minutes in net for Bowdoin and made a pair of saves for the win. After 80 minutes for Pollack (four saves) Nick Tsellos came in for the final minutes and made one save for Hamilton. Each team earned two corner kicks over the course of the game.
Bowdoin travels to Williams for a 1:00 p.m. game tomorrow afternoon.
