Women's Tennis Dispatches Bates For Fourth Straight Victory

LEWISTON, Maine - The Bowdoin College women's tennis team slammed Bates 9-0 in a Thursday evening match at the Wallach Tennis Center.

The eighth-ranked Polar Bears improve to 12-3 this spring with the win. Bowdoin will host Tufts in their regular-season finale on Saturday at 10:00 a.m.

The Polar Bear doubles pairings quickly dispatched the Bobcats to take an early 3-0 lead. Bowdoin's duos of Emma Chow/Tiffany Cheng (8-2), Kellen Alberstone/Chantalle Lavertu (8-6), and Kate Winingham/Emma Lewis (8-2) gave Bowdoin a commanding edge heading into singles action.

Bowdoin was even more dominant in singles play, losing just one set in sweeping all six matches. Alberstone (6-1, 6-3), Lavertu (7-6, 5-7, 10-8), Cheng (6-1, 6-0), Winingham (6-1, 6-0), Chow (6-2, 6-1) and Susanna Howard (6-2, 6-1) rounded out the win for the Polar Bears.
