Women's Tennis Cruises to Non-Conference Victory Over Brandeis

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College women's tennis team earned a tidy 8-1 win over visiting Brandeis in a non-conference win Saturday.

The eighth-ranked Polar Bears improve to 11-3 with their third-straight win. 24th-ranked Brandeis falls to 7-8 with their third-straight loss.

The Polar Bears claimed two of three doubles matches and swept singles play on Saturday afternoon. Bowdoin got points at #2 doubles from Emma Lewis and Tiffany Cheng (9-7) and at #3 from Kellen Alberstone and Kate Winingham (8-5) to carry a 2-1 advantage into singles play.

It was all Bowdoin from there, as the Polar Bears cruised to straight-set wins in five of the six matches. Alberstone (4-6, 6-1, 6-1), Chantalle Lavertu (6-2, 6-0), Cheng (6-1, 6-3), Winingham (6-1, 6-1), Lewis (6-2, 6-3), and Emma Chow (7-5, 6-1) all netted wins to round out the victory.

Bowdoin will return to the courts for a match at NESCAC foe Bates on April 25 at 4:00 p.m.
