Women's Volleyball Falls To Williams in NESCAC Championship Match

Box Score

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - The Bowdoin College women's volleyball team battled valiantly, but couldn't mount a comeback for the third-straight day as the Polar Bears dropped a 3-0 decision to Williams in the NESCAC Championship match Sunday afternoon.

The Polar Bears, who were coming off five-set thrillers in consecutive days, fall to 23-7 with the loss and will hope to receive an at-large bid when the NCAA Division III Tournament field is announced Monday.

Williams (25-4) wins its eighth conference championship since 2000 and receives the conference's automatic bid to the national tournament. Bowdoin was looking for its second title to go with their 2011 crown. The Ephs claimed the match by set scores of 25-16, 25-15, 25-19 to earn the win.

Tori Jasuta had a monstrous game for Williams, collecting 20 kills and 13 digs to spark her team to the win. Ryan Farley dished out 40 assists for Williams while Emily Doll pitched in 10 kills for the hosts.

Bowdoin couldn't quite get its offense on track, as Christy Jewett led the way with nine kills and three service aces. Ellie Brennan had five kills while Katie Doherty led Bowdoin with nine digs.

The NCAA will announce the Division III Tournament field Monday at 11 a.m. The official announcement will be streamed online here.
