Box Score BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College women's volleyball team stayed perfect with a key 3-1 conference win over Trinity on Saturday at Morrell Gymnasium.
The 25th-ranked Polar Bears improve to 7-0 (2-0 NESCAC) by taking set scores of 25-17, 25-15, 17-25, 25-18. The Bantams lose for the first time this year and drop to 5-1 (1-1 NESCAC).
For the second straight night, first-year Christy Jewett led the way for Bowdoin, earning a team-best 15 kills. Ellie Brennan added 13 kills and three blocks while Melissa Haskell pitched in 11 kills and 11 digs for the hosts. Sophia Cornew dealt 39 assists, six aces and a season-high 21 digs for Bowdoin. Taylor Vail led all Polar Bears with 25 digs on the day.
Trinity was paced by 14 kills and nine digs by Danielle Isaman. Katie Stueber pitched in nine kills and 14 digs for the Bantams, who got 23 assists from Amy Hackett and 17 assists from Gina Buzzelli.
Bowdoin will return to the court on Wednesday evening in its annual non-conference match against Colby in Waterville (7:00 p.m.). The Bantams will host UMass Boston on Tuesday night (7:00 p.m.).
