Women's Tennis Earns Tenth Win in Thursday Afternoon Shutout of Bates

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College women's tennis team overwhelmed Bates 9-0 in a New England Small College Athletic Conference match played on Thursday afternoon.

The 10th-ranked Polar Bears had little trouble dispatching the 30th-ranked Bobcats to improve to 10-6 (5-2 NESCAC) this season. Bates falls to 10-8 (3-3 NESCAC).

Bowdoin easily claimed the three doubles matches courtesy of Kellen Alberstone/Emma Lewis (8-3), Emma Chow/Hannah Hoerner (8-4) and Kate Winningham/Emily Lombardi (8-0). The Polar Bears swept the singles matches as well, straight down the ladder. Alberstone, Winingham, Lombardi, Lewis, Susanna Howard and Hoerner earned points at numbers one through six, respectively.

The Polar Bears will round out their regular season at home Saturday against top-ranked Williams at 10:00 a.m.
