Women's Tennis Falls to Seventh-Ranked Middlebury

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - The Bowdoin College women's tennis team saw its three-match winning streak snapped in an 8-1 loss to Middlebury on Saturday. The seventh-ranked Panthers remain undefeated at 11-0, 3-0 in the league, while the tenth-ranked Polar Bears fall to 6-5, 2-1 in NESCAC play.

Middlebury took 2-of-3 doubles matches to hold the early advantage. Bowdoin's lone point came courtesy of Chantalle Lavertu and Emma Lewis, who defeated Victoria Aiello and DeeDee Myers 8-5 at #3. Brittany Faber gave the Panthers a 3-1 lead with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Chantalle Lavertu at #4, before Leah Kepping made it a 4-1 match with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Kate Winingham in the #2 slot. Katie Paradies sealed the victory at #6, defeating Emma Chow by a score of 6-4, 7-6 (6).

Bowdoin will return to the court on April 19 at home against Tufts University.
