Box Score WATERVILLE, Maine - The Bowdoin College women's volleyball team rallied from a one-set deficit to take a 3-1 victory at Colby on Tuesday night.
The 22nd-ranked Polar Bears stand at 24-2 overall and have won 12 straight matches, while the Mules fall to 12-10 overall. The Polar Bears took a 20-25, 25-18, 25-20, 25-19 victory.
Tory Edelman had 11 kills for Bowdoin while
Hillary Cederna and
Christy Jewett each had 10. Setter
Sophia Cornew finished with 44 assists, 12 digs, and two aces.
Melissa Haskell posted with nine kills for the winners and libero
Taylor Vail had 20 digs. Kim Donaldson had 10 kills and Natalie Royadded nine kills for Colby.
Colby led 14-12 in the fourth game and the two teams were tied at 15-15 when Bowdoin ran off three straight points to force a Mule timeout and take control of the set.
Bowdoin will look to clinch the top seed for the NESCAC Tournament in its final weekend of regular season action. With a pair of wins at Middlebury on Friday (8:00 p.m.) and at Williams on Saturday (2:00 p.m.), the Polar Bears can garner the league's top seed for the second consecutive year.
