WATERVILLE, Maine - Kellen Alberstone won at first singles by 6-0, 6-0 scores and teamed with Kate Winningham for a victory at first doubles to lead the Bowdoin College women's tennis team to an 8-1 victory over Colby College in New England Small College Athletic Conference play Thursday. The 12th-ranked Polar Bears snap a two-match losing streak and improve to 8-3 (2-3 NESCAC).
Emily Lombardi, Emma Lewis, Winningham, Chantalle Lavertu, and Susanna Howard were singles winners for the Polar Bears. Lombardi and Lewis joined forces for a victory at second doubles.
The Mules fall to 4-11 overall and 2-4 in the league. Bowdoin will return to action Saturday at home against Middlebury.
