Bowdoin Easily Rolls To NESCAC Win Over Conn College

NEW LONDON, Conn. - The Bowdoin College women's basketball team jumped out to a 22-4 lead and rolled to an eventual 81-33 victory at Connecticut College on Friday night. The Polar Bears improve to 19-4 (5-3 NESCAC) entering their regular season finale tomorrow at Wesleyan.

Katie Bergeron was outstanding for Bowdoin, connecting on 5-6 from three-point range to finish with a game-high 17 points and eight rebounds. Alexa Barry and Allie Piscina had 11 points apiece while Nicole Coombes added 10 for the Polar Bears. Kim Horne led the Camels with 14 points.

Bowdoin connected on 53% from the field and eight three-pointers to take a 42-10 lead at intermission. The Polar Bears held a 51-28 edge in rebounding and held Conn. College to 26% shooting while forcing 22 turnovers.

The Polar Bears can finish as high as second or as low as sixth in the NESCAC standings, depending on Saturday's results around the league. A top-four finish guarantees a home NESCAC Quarterfinal on Saturday, February 19.
