BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College women's basketball team reached the century mark for the first time since the 1978-79 season and posted their second-largest margin of victory in school history in a 100-28 win over the University of Maine-Farmington on Tuesday evening. The Polar Bears improve to 16-4 overall while the Beavers fall to 7-11.

Ellery Gould led six Bowdoin players in double figures with 15 points off the bench. Alexa Barry notched a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds in the victory, while Allie Piscina pitched in with 13 points, Katie Bergeron provided 12 points and Kaitlin Donahoe  and Colleen Sweeney each added 10 points. Jill Henrikson led Bowdoin with five assists as the Polar Bears passed out 25 assists to just four turnovers.

Bowdoin tied a school record with 55 first-half points and used a 36-1 run to take absolute command in the first ten minutes of the game. A Norton layup with 17:43 left in the first half made the score 8-4 in favor of the Polar Bears and was Farmington's only field goal for nearly 15 minutes as Bowdoin pressed the Beavers in 17 turnovers to rip off a 36-1 run. Twenty of the points came off Farmington miscues.

Henrikson made five steals for Bowdoin and Bergeron had four swipes as Farmington was stifled by the Polar Bears with a 19.6 percent (9-46) night from the field and 31 turnovers. The 100 points is the most scored by Bowdoin since defeating now-defunct Nasson College in 1978-79. It is tied for the second-most points scored by the Polar Bears, who tallied 110 against Thomas in 1977-78.

The Polar Bears will return to action on Friday night when they host nationally-ranked Williams on Friday at 8:00 p.m.
