Hanley Dominates as Polar Bears Crush Colby in Waterville

WATERVILLE, Maine - Will Hanley finished with game-highs of 29 points, 13 rebounds, and seven assists as the Bowdoin College men's basketball team opened up a 47-32 halftime lead on the way to an 84-68 win over Colby in non-conference play Friday night at Whitmore-Mitchell Court at Wadsworth Gymnasium.

Hanley shot 12-for-18 from the field and 5-of-6 from the foul line for Bowdoin (6-2 overall). Bryan Hurley added 16 points and four steals, Ryan O'Connell had 15 points and five assists, and Andrew Madlinger finished with five points, five assists, and four steals.

Ben Foreman led Colby with 17 points and three assists. The Mules (3-4) also received 13 points from Shane Rogers, 11 points and four assists by Kyle Donovan, and 10 points from Eric Beaulieu.

The game was tight for the opening 15 minutes, with the Mules grabbing an early 9-5 lead. Bowdoin took the lead soon after that, but the Mules only trailed 28-26 with 7:17 to play. The Polar Bears still led 31-28 with just under six minutes to play and went on a 16-4 run the rest of the way for the solid halftime lead.

Bowdoin will look to complete a weekend sweep of CBB rivals when it hosts Bates on Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m.
