Box Score BANGOR, Maine - Six Bowdoin players saw double figures as the Polar Bear men's basketball team took an easy 95-54 non-conference win at Husson on Sunday afternoon.
Bowdoin improves to 3-1 and will travel to Gorham for another non-conference tilt at Southern Maine on Tuesday evening at 7:30. Husson falls to 0-3 this season.
The Polar Bears were paced by another double-double from Will Hanley, who collected 16 points and 15 rebounds, while Ryan O'Connell also scored 16 points. Andrew Madlinger nailed three three-pointers and finished with 15 points while Maximilian Staiger added 10 points. Bowdoin's bench also contributed heavily as Bryan Hurley pitched in 13 points and Wyatt Littles added 10.
Marc Zaharchuk led Husson with 21 points in the loss.
Bowdoin never trailed on Sunday and, after being tied at 12-12 at the 14-minute mark of the first half, closed the period on a 33-13 surge to take a 45-25 edge at intermission. Husson was able to close to within 15 points with 14:39 left in regulation, but a Madlinger jumper and Hurley trifecta sparked a 15-0 run to put the contest out of reach.
The Polar Bears connected on 53% (35-66) of their shots from the field and 47% (9-19) from long-range. Husson was limited to 32.3% shooting (20-62) and struggled from long distance to the tune of 10% (2-20) from three-point range. Bowdoin also held a 47-25 edge in rebounding and earned a 38-9 edge in bench points.
