WATERVILLE, Maine - The Bowdoin College men's soccer team scored
three times in the first half and cruised to a convincing 4-0 win
under the lights at Colby on Monday. Bowdoin improves to 2-1-2
overall and 1-1-2 in the New England Small College Athletic
Conference, while Colby is 3-3 overall and 1-3 in the league.
Just over 12 minutes into Monday's game, Tim Prior ripped a shot from
about 20 yards out that skidded on the wet surface and got past
Colby keeper John Gardner. The Polar Bears made it 2-0 when Prior
headed in a corner kick from Sean Bishop (Danvers, Mass.)
at 28:34. Less than six minutes later, Nick Powell one-timed a low
centering pass from Prior for a 3-0 margin.
Ben
Denton-Schneider scored Bowdoin's final goal. Daniel Chaffetz had a
throw-in from the left side that was headed by Call Nichols to
Denton-Schneider for the goal. Dan Hicks made two saves
before giving way to Will Wise in the closing minutes.
Bowdoin will return to action this Saturday when they begin a
three-game homestand with a match against Connecticut College.
