CLAREMONT, Calif. - The 16th-ranked Bowdoin College women's
tennis team split their first two matches of spring break against
nationally-ranked opponents, falling to sixth-ranked Pomona Pitzer
7-2 before rebounding in a 6-3 win against 19th-ranked Trinity
(Texas).
Brett Davis led the Polar Bears with a pair of individual wins,
including the team's lone singles point and a doubles point with
Nikki Kuna in Bowdoin's loss to Pomona. The Polar Bears got off to
a good start against Trinity, taking two of three doubles matches
with Emily Lombardi, Chantalle Lavertu, Hannah Hoerner and Davis
accounting for the singles points.
Bowdoin returns to action Tuesday against Sewanee in Palm
Desert.
