WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - The second-ranked Williams College men's
basketball team snapped a two-year losing streak to Bowdoin in a
97-54 victory on Saturday afternoon. The Ephs improve to 21-1 this
season and 7-0 in conference play. Bowdoin drops to 11-10 (3-4
NESCAC) with the loss.
The Ephs shot an incredible 68% from the field and 69% from three
in the first half to take a 47-31 lead at the break. Blake Schultz
scored 18 in the period, going 7-7 from the field after missing his
first shot. Wang joined him in double figures with 10 points on 4-5
shooting. Williams finished with 17 three-pointers, the most
allowed by Bowdoin in program history. Schultz hit all six of his
attempts from long-range and ended with a game-high 26 for the
hosts.
Bowdoin was led by 13 points from Paul Sellew. The Polar Bears will
return to action on Tuesday evening at home against Bridgewater
State (6:00 p.m.).
