Bowdoin Hammers Husson For Fifth-Straight Victory

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College women's basketball team easily dispatched Husson on Tuesday evening, 89-55, on their way to their fifth-straight win. The Polar Bears (5-1) are ranked 24th in the nation in the latest d3hoops.com national poll. Husson falls to 2-4 with the loss.

Bowdoin had five players in double figures compared to none for Husson. Nicole Coombes had 12 points and ten rebounds while Colleen Sweeney scored 12 with seven boards. Jill Henrikson also had a dozen points while Kaitlin Donahoe and Allie Piscina had ten points apiece.

Tied at 12 in the early going, the Polar Bears used suffocating defense and efficient offense (48% from the field) to end the half on a 39-10 run to close out the period and take a 51-22 edge at intermission. Bowdoin cruised behind 60% shooting in the second half to ease to victory.

Bowdoin out-rebounded Husson 37-22 for the game and forced 26 turnovers while earning 21 steals. The Polar Bears will travel to play at Colby-Sawyer on Thursday night.
