MEDFORD, Mass. - The Bowdoin College women's volleyball team survived Hamilton, 3-1, in a NESCAC volleyball match played at Tufts University on Friday night. The Polar Bears improve to 14-7 (7-2 NESCAC) with win and build on their program-best mark with their seventh conference victory of 2010.

Bowdoin prevailed by set scores of 25-22, 25-18, 18-25, 25-15, but it wasn't easy. The Polar Bears rallied from an 11-2 deficit in the opening set. Bowdoin never trailed in the second set, but Hamilton returned the favor in the third, never giving Bowdoin an advantage.

The pendulum swung back in Bowdoin's favor in the fourth set as the Polar Bears took a lead at 2-1 and never relinquished it. Bowdoin built a nine-point lead at 16-7 and pushed it to a set-high ten at 18-8. Eventually the Polar Bears won the set, 25-15, and took the match, 3-1.
