MEDFORD, Mass. - Sparked by the performances of first-years
Melissa Haskell, Hillary Cederna, Victoria Edelman and Stephanie
Bond, the Bowdoin College women's volleyball team edged Wesleyan,
3-2, on Saturday at Tufts University. The Polar Bears bounce back
from Friday's loss to Conn. College by defeating the Cardinals
22-25, 25-21, 25-20, 23-25, 15-9.
Cederna and Haskell paced the squad with outstanding performances
on the attack. Cerderna collected 15 kills while picking up nine
digs. Haskell notched 13 kills in just 28 attacks, earned two aces
and 12 digs. Edelman carded nine kills while Bond earned a
career-high 48 assists on the day with 16 digs.
Other strong performances included Kristin Hanczor's 11 kills and
seven blocks and Jillian Berkman's team-high 24 digs. Bowdoin will
return to action on the 23rd when they travel to Bates College at
7:00 p.m.
