LEWISTON, Maine - The Bowdoin College women's tennis team
cruised to a 7-2 victory over Bates in their first match since
returning from spring break on Thursday evening. The 12th-ranked
Polar Bears improve to 4-4 this season with the victory.
Bowdoin swept the top two doubles matches and the top five
singles pairings to clinch the victory. Sarah D'Elia remained
unbeaten this spring with a 6-3, 6-1 victory at #1 singles. Emily
Lombardi, Rachel Waldman, Liz Pedowitz and Charlotte Hitch also
claimed straight-set wins in singles play.
In doubles play, D'Elia teamed with Lombardi to win at #1
doubles with Hitch and Waldman taking a win at #2.
