REDLANDS, Calif. - The Bowdoin College women's tennis team
finished up their spring break competition with a loss to Redlands
University on Tuesday, 6-3. The Polar Bears stand at 3-4 overall
this spring, with all losses coming to top-15 squads during their
trip to California.
Sarah D'Elia rounded out her stellar trip with a win at number one
singles while also teaming with Emily Lombardi to claim a point at
the top doubles slot. D'Elia finished up the spring break trip with
a record of 7-0 in singles play and rose from 13th in the Northeast
at the end of the fall semester to being ranked sixth in the latest
regional rankings that were released on Tuesday. Her and Lombardi
stand fourth overall in the Northeast region.
Liz Pedowitz lost her first match of the season at the number four
spot on Tuesday, while Lombardi won at #2 singles and improved to
5-2 this spring. Lombardi is ranked 19th individually in the
Northeast.
