POMONA, Calif. - The Bowdoin College women's tennis team
suffered a 7-2 loss to Pomona Pitzer on Sunday afternoon in
Southern California. The Polar Bears fall to 3-3 this spring with
the defeat. Bowdoin is ranked 11th nationally while Pomona is
eighth in the latest Division III poll.
Bowdoin's spring stalwarts - Sarah D'Elia and Liz Pedowitz-
continued their outstanding play, both earning points for the Polar
Bears in singles play. D'Elia claimed her #1 singles match in
straight-sets, 6-2, 6-1, while Pedowitz cruised as well, 6-1, 6-4.
Bowdoin will close out their spring trip on Tuesday at
Redlands.
