Six-Goal Rally Pushes Bowdoin Over Ohio Wesleyan

BOX SCORE

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The Bowdoin College women's lacrosse team scored the final six goals of the game, including a pair from Ingrid Oelschlager and Katie Herter, to break a 12-12 tie and defeat Ohio Wesleyan 18-12 in a game held at Lake Lytal Park in West Palm Beach, Fla.

The Polar Bears took command early with a 5-0 run over a four-minute span to take a 6-1 lead just 10 minutes into the contest. The teams battled back and forth over the next 13 minutes, with Bowdoin pulling out to an 11-5 lead with seven minutes to play in the half.

From there, the Bishops rattled off the next six goals, including three by Hannah Mudge, to tie the game at 11-11 seven minutes into the second period. A McKenna Teague goal gave Bowdoin the lead, but Abbey Miller tied it for a second time after OWU won the ensuing draw and scored 24 seconds later.

Bowdoin won the next draw but was unable to convert; OWU had a chance to take the lead but turned the ball over. A four-goal spurt by Bowdoin in a three-minute span gave the Polar Bears some breathing room.

Christina Denitzio and Oelschlager both had four goals for Bowdoin to lead the Polar Bears; Hannah Mudge and Marlowe Mavian each notched three goals for OWU. Liz Searfos made 17 saves in the cage for the Bishops, while her counterpart Stef Collins-Finn made 13 saves for the Polar Bears. Dani Beauford had a game-high six caused turnovers for OWU
