WATERVILLE, Maine - Will Hanley had a double-double with 15 points
and 10 rebounds to lead four Bowdoin College players in double
figures in a 69-56 win over previously unbeaten Colby College on
Saturday night at Wadsworth Gymnasium. Bowdoin improves to 6-2
overall, while the Mules fall to 7-1.
Hanley shot 6-for-11 from the field and added three blocked shots.
Ryan O'Connell added 13 points on 5-for-7 shooting, while
Paul Sellew and Mark Phillips both had 12 points and combined to
shoot 11-for-16 from the field. Bowdoin point guard Mike Hauser
added six points, six rebounds, and seven assists.
The Polar Bears shot 56 percent (25-for-45) from the field and had
a 37-20 advantage in rebounding. Adam Choice finished with a
game-high 20 points and added seven assists and five rebounds for
the Mules.
Bowdoin took a 35-28 lead at intermission after Sellew had 10 of
his 12 points in the opening period. With the Polar Bears up 41-35
with 14:46 remaining, Bowdoin went on a 12-0 run to go up 53-35
with 9:27 to play. Colby got as close as six points at 58-52 with
2:05 left, but Bowdoin went 11-for-12 from the foul line in the
final 1:45 to put the game away.
