MEDFORD, Mass. - The Tufts University women's volleyball team
won their 17th straight match and snapped Bowdoin's six-game win
streak in a 3-0 decision at Cousens Gymnasium on Wednesday. The
Jumbos stand at 17-1 (3-0 NESCAC) while the Polar Bears drop to
11-6 (1-2 NESCAC). Tufts won by set scores of 25-17, 25-22,
25-20.
Caitlin Updike and Dawson Joyce-Mendive were outstanding for the
Jumbos, combining for 28 kills and just four errors in 63 attempts
(.381 hitting percentage). Dena Feiger averaged 12.7 assist per set
with 38 total. Defensively, sophomore Audrey Kuan finished with 22
digs.
Gillian Page and Kristin Hanczor led Bowdoin with six kills each,
while Page also recorded 13 digs in the match. Melissa Haskell
finished with five kills and 12 digs. Senior setter Jenna Diggs had
16 assists.
Tufts now heads to Bowdoin this weekend for conference matches
against Bates and Colby. Bowdoin will also play Colby and Bates at
home this weekend.
