NEW LONDON, Conn. - Ellery Gould had a hat-trick with three
scores to lead visiting Bowdoin College (4-3, 2-2) to a 4-0 NESCAC
victory against Connecticut College (3-5, 0-4) in a game that was
played on the Coast Guard Turf Field Saturday. Toni DaCampo chipped
in with a goal in the second straight win for the visitors.
Kat Flaherty made one save in the win for Bowdoin. Connecticut
College senior Jenna Ross had two saves in the first half. Amy
Lowitt made one save in the second half of action.
Bowdoin scored first in the 21st minute of action. DaCampo was
able to steal the ball out in front of the goal and score from
point-blank range. Gould supplied the first of her trifecta with
18:15 remaining when she lifted a high shot over the Camel defense
from 15 yards out. In the 41st minute of action, Gould took off
from midfield in a full sprint, creating on her own with a
one-on-one move for the goal and the visitors carried the 3-0 lead
into the break.
Gould closed out the scoring in the 69th minute of play. Larkin
Brown delivered an entry pass to Gould who put in a low shot to
complete the hat trick.
Bowdoin will host Colby College Wednesday for a 3:30 p.m. game in
Brunswick, Maine.
