BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College women's volleyball team
wasted little time in dismissing Maine Maritime on Senior Night
Tuesday evening at Morrell Gymnasium. The Polar Bears (16-8)
celebrated with a dominating 25-16, 25-16, 25-14 victory over the
Mariners (17-3).
Senior Gillian Page led the Polar Bears with 11 kills, seven
service aces and 15 digs in the win. Classmates Jenna Diggs (eight
assists, four digs) and Kelsey Howe (one kill) have earned 70 wins
over the past four years - the second-best mark by a class in
program history - and own the best winning percentage of any senior
class in team history.
Other contributors included Kristin Hanczor, who posted eight
kills and Stephanie Bond, who collected 18 assists in the
victory.
Bowdoin will travel to Mount Holyoke College this weekend for the
Hall of Fame Tournament. The Polar Bears are seeded second in the
silver bracket and will face Gordon College in their opening
contest on Friday evening at 5:00 p.m.
