BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin senior co-captain Gillian Page
notched 12 kills and five aces to lead the Polar Bear women's
volleyball team to a 3-1 victory over Endicott College in a
non-conference match played at Morrell Gymnasium on Wednesday
evening. The Polar Bears improve to 14-6 with the 25-11, 25-22,
25-27, 25-16 win over the Gulls, who drop to 13-9 overall.
Page notched a dozen kills to lead the Polar Bears and had five of
Bowdoin's 16 aces in addition to 19 digs. Stephanie Drumright
supported Page with 11 kills for Bowdoin while Melissa Haskell
notched nine kills and three aces. Co-captain Jenna Diggs had 32
assists with 19 digs for the Polar Bears.
Endicott was led by 13 kills from Brittany Phillips and 12 kills
from Steph Wiese. Ally Murphy collected 19 assists in the loss for
the Gulls.
The Polar Bears have won eight of their last nine matches and are
ranked 13th in the latest New England poll. Bowdoin also defeated
Endicott 3-2 on September 12.
Bowdoin will return to action this weekend when they travel to
Middlebury for a trio of key NESCAC matches on Friday and Saturday.
The Gulls will play in the Wellesley College tournament this
weekend.
