Bowdoin Finishes Second at Endicott Invitational

BEVERLY, Mass. - The Bowdoin College women's volleyball team placed second at the Endicott Invitational this weekend. The Polar Bears split a pair of matches Saturday, defeating Salve Regina 3-0 in the semifinals of the tournament before falling to the host Gulls 3-1 in the championship match.

The Polar Bears made short work of Salve Regina, posting game scores of 25-14, 25-19 and 25-17 to advance to the title match.

In the final, Bowdoin fell in a tight four-set affair 20-25, 26-24, 25-21 and 25-22. Bowdoin was paced by All-Tournament Team member Kristin Hanczor's 14 kills. Teammate Jenna Diggs, also an All-Tournament recipient, had 32 assists and 16 digs in the losing effort. Stephanie Drumright notched two blocks in the finals.

The Polar Bears (2-1) return to Maine to host Swarthmore College at noon Sunday.
